I stealed this from Konami |
I was reasoning on the possibility of renewing the Ranked aspect of ADS, since brutally copying and improve functionalities that were already on DN (ahem..Due..ahem..ook..ahem) seems a bit boring to me. My first attempt to do so has been the League system, although it has been loosely based (yeah, SUUUUREE) on League of Legends. Exactly because of this, I don't consider it enough to revolutionate the online card gaming. But, while I was being on the toilet, I had an epiphany: the key will be the feudal system!
Problems of another age

Nothing. But my mind is sick, so I have thought to put beside the usual Ranked Queue, a system

You won't need to write a "book" to claim to be the King |
When I will gather a decent number of users, the system will ask them to insert their Country and City. N.B.: this won't be mandatory in order to use ADS or the Ranked queue, but it will be in order to join FFC.
FFC will assign to users different titles, each one with various additional features and prizes:
- King/Queen (Re/Regina): Only one user in the whole site. People that has received a ban in the last two year may not apply for this title. He/she will have exclusive avatar border, customizable avatar, customizable card back, exclusive duel intro, colored name in the chat, exclusively designed profile page.
- Liegeman/Liegewoman (Vassallo): 6 users, one for each continent (Liegeman of Europe, North-America, South-America, Africa, Asia, Oceania; if you live in Antarctica, your problem). They will have exclusive avatar border, custom avatar, exclusive duel intro, exlusively designed profile page.
- Valvassor (Valvassore): One for each Country recognized by Italian Republic (Valvassor of Italy, of France, etc.etc.). They will have exclusive avatar border and exclusive duel intro.
- Knight (Cavaliere): Eight users for each Valvassor. They are associated to their City (Knight of Turin, Rome, Paris, etc..etc..). They only gains a different avatar border.
Thou shalt be king
For each Country will be organized an open tournament, Swiss round + TOP. The winner will be the Valvassor of that State. The rest of the TOP 8 will obtain the Knight title. Also it will be obtained who, dropped at the TOP 16, has been higher in the stadings at the end of Swiss rounds.
When all the the Countries Valvassors would be decided, they will be invited to a tournament (Swiss Round + TOP, one for each continent), whom winner will be the Liegeman.
About the election of the King, the procedure will be a bit more complex: each Liegeman will choose an "helper" between their Valvassors, the Cancellor. Liegemen and Cancellors will be invited to the final tournament of FFC, Swiss + TOP 4, with al Matches of 5 duels, instead of 3. If the winner is a Liegeman, he will be the King, If the winner is a Cancellor, is Liegeman will be King. In both cases, the Cancellor will take the Liegeman title left by the King.

Kuribohs are better than cannon balls Use them for the Revolution |
This structure has a limits, that normal Ranked Queue doesn't have: at the latter everyone can partecipate and when they want, while the FFC results to be drastically limited in time and people that are partecipating already after the Valvassors election. I don't want to create an elitist competition, but something that will involve everyone during the whole season, completing the experience of the Ranked Queue. For this reason, after the election of the King, all the titles may be stolen by an their own subordinate!
Whoever have a title may access the Ranked Queue checking the button On the Edge of A Revolution (yeah, I listen Nickelback's songs). All the users immediately lower in the pyramid (Valvassor for Liegeman, Knight for Valvassor, etc.etc.) will see a notification in the lobby, that will permit them to access the Revolution Pool. After 10 minutes, the user with the higher ranking in the Pool will start a 3 Matches Challenge, each Match composed by 5 Duels. If he/she wins, will take the title of the challenged. If he loose, the challenged will receive a Reaction Token. Tokens will have twofold utility: to start a Challenge against someone that has Valvassor title or above, it will be needed to pay a fee of 5 Tokes. Also, each month, players must pay a fee of 10 Tokens to mantain their title.

No, I'm sorry, you would not be like this |
I'm perfectly conscious that the whole system is a bit complex. A lot actually. But, built in this manner, it will be constantly present and competitive, permitting the creation of a good audience during the various tournament of the FCC. I would like to ask a honest opinion on this idea. I want to specify that the implementation of this feature will not influence the release date of the ADS. This will be inserted following the release, probably around Fall 2017
Let me know what you think

As a peer developer I have to say this is a very bad idea.
